Over the years, the family art studio of Achille Sdoukos and Ingrid Zamečníková has grown. The growing number of clients, new artworks and commissions, or the need for a better, more elegant presentation and space for creating events – all this led to the exchange of the old studio for a new glass complex in a beautiful location in Koliba.
,,A dream that I had since I was a child, when I was walking around Greek monuments as a child, came true, one of the most favorite temples became the one in Delphi. It is called Tholos and has a circular floor plan. Now our studio is a gallery with an identical composition and floor plan,” says Achilleas.
The studio is located in a unique space in the building of the former Casablanca restaurant in Bratislava, which had been dilapidated for almost 10 years. After a year-long reconstruction, these spaces were transformed into a three-story luxury studio. The workshop has been expanded with new machines, equipment, and technologies that are an integral part of glassmaking. Among other things, the new studio has also added a new melting furnace, which allows us to fulfill our clients’ dreams and, with its largest size in Slovakia, offers the possibility of realizing up to three-meter works or design elements from a single piece of glass.
The ground floor is made up of a beautiful glass gallery with a circular floor plan full of interior design works, paintings, and glass sculptures that will arouse the admiration of even the most demanding client. With every step, new works of art are revealed to you, while behind the windows The atmosphere is complemented by greenery in summer, snowy tree branches in winter, beautiful sunsets in the early evening, and the play of natural sunlight flowing through the glass throughout the day. The gallery is also a space where not only various social and private events will be held and organized, but also teambuildings, during which guests will find themselves directly in a creative environment.
The first floor, in addition to Ingrid Zámečníková's painting studio and her large exhibition of paintings, also hides a model showroom, completely furnished with the works of Achille Sdoukos, which allows clients, architects, and future partners to better visualize the almost unlimited possibilities in creating interior design and the practical use of glass, consisting of a living room with a dining room, kitchen, two separate bathrooms, a meeting room, a large arched hallway lined with paintings, and more adjacent corners. The luxurious look of the interior in the bathrooms and throughout the building is complemented by Pakistani marble from Adriatikstone, which perfectly harmonizes with the glass works. The atmosphere is completed by the view of Bratislava Castle, Slavín and the Austrian Alps directly from the large curved terrace.
